Clearwater Springs
History and Awards
In the early 1900’s, Pioneers of the upper
Clearwater valley first stumbled upon a small trickle of water
surfacing from the ground. The Pioneers took advantage of this
gift, digging trenches to channel the water to their homesteads.
For over half a century the Ludtke family inhabited the property
around the spring until later being purchased by businessman Mike
Hentall.
Mike and his wife Lindy believed that the water
coming out of the ground on their wilderness estate was something very
special. To confirm their
beliefs they had experts analyze the water. The results came back
and little to Mike and Lindy's surprise the water was ‘perfect’.
The experts informed them that this water should not be wasted,
it is unique and as close to what they would call a perfect balance
of minerals as they could think possible.
The results sparked Mike and Lindy's enthusiasm. They
took the water to the Chefs in America competition, San Francisco.
It took home a Gold medal.
Clearwater Springs Inc. was founded and bottles
were shipped to the world’s top first class cabins on cruise
ships, penthouse suites in 5 star hotels and to the tables of the
rich and famous in fine restaurants.
Unfortunately the Hentalls could not compete
with the lower quality waters available in the early 1990’s
as at the time the world did not have an understanding for the
need of such a pure, delicate water and the health benefits it
holds.
In 2008 the Robinsons purchased the estate with a mind to bottle
the world famous water by the year 2010. It was decided to keep the
Hentalls original concept of water in wine bottles as it matched
the waters individuality and quality.
